The Ziegen Creek Standard

At Ziegen Creek Ranch we believe in being good stewards of our land and livestock, and that affects the way we do everything we do. We don't believe in pouring chemicals onto the fruits and vegetables we raise for our own table and the same goes for the animals we raise for ourselves and others. We are FAMACHA-certified and practice rotational grazing to keep parasite issues at a minimum.

At Ziegen Creek Ranch we practice regenerative agriculture, allowing the soil to nourish the plants and the plants to nourish the soil, just as nature intended. Regenerative agriculture rebuilds the land with minimal to zero use of pesticides, herbicides, and soil-depleting tillage practices. Our livestock plays an active part in the process, stimulating crop growth as they graze, browse, scratch, and peck and leave behind rich natural fertilizer.

At Ziegen Creek Ranch we are constantly working to improve in every aspect of our agricultural endeavors, from each blade of grass to each animal's bloodline, and it seems the learning never stops. As we all have to start somewhere, we don't mind sharing what we've learned with others as we continue to learn from others!

We don't pour on a lot of chemicals but we do pour a lot of blood, sweat and tears, and lots of joy into our farming. Land and livestock, lifelong learning, and a labor of love. That's how we do things at Ziegen Creek Ranch.
